The Noord Nederlands Toneel (NNT) will be the first ever to bring Adam Price’s Danish TV-series Borgen to the stage. NNT-director Ola Mafalaani will transform two seasons of the hit series into an immersive theater production of no less than ten hours. The audience can walk in and out of the theater and follow the play on screens if they are getting a drink.

Borgen is the story of Birgitte Nyborg, who has to make tough decisions between her ideals and the harsh reality of politics everyday as the prime minister of Denmark. Trusting relationships are tested and managing her family life becomes more and more difficult.

The cast is made up of about thirty people, including Malou Gorter (prime minister Birgitte Nyborg), Anna Drijver (the journalist Katrine Fønsmark) and Peter Vandemeulebroecke (the spin doctor Kasper Juul).

Borgen premiered in Groningen in March. The first two performances were sold out, but you can still get tickets for the performances 11th and 12th June, 2016 at the Stadsschouwburg.
