Rodin - Genius at Work in Groningen
With more than 140 sculptures and 20 works on paper, the Rodin-exhibition Genius at work is the largest ever in the Netherlands with works by the popular artist Auguste Rodin.
Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) is the greatest and most influential sculptor of the modern era. His works not only present the most idealistic form of the human body, but also show the production process itself.
Rodin – Genius at Work shows plaster and bronze sculptures, such as the well know pieces The Thinker and Balzac, marble figures, ceramic and never before exhibited photographs that give insight to the creativity of the artist. The exhibition will also showcase the not so standard work process behind a number of Rodin’s most famous pieces. The Musée Rodin in Paris and the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal put the exhibition together.
