GRID Printmaking Museum
Graphic presence and past – experience and do
Today, books, newspapers and posters are made using computers and super-fast machines. In GRID, visitors learn about the history and future of this graphic ingenuity. Everything here works, from the historic presses and ultramodern risograph, the typesetting machines and the machines in the bindery. In the two workshop spaces and the contemporary studio, children and adults can get going with graphic design, typesetting, various printing techniques and bookbinding. In the Werkman studio, where part of his original printing office was set up, see and experience how the well-known Groningen printmaker and painter Werkman made his magnificent prints. The changing exhibitions in GRID focus on various aspects of the printmaking profession, printmaking history and graphic art.
