The RKZbios is a small independent cinema in Groningen that opened its doors in 1980. The cinema is run by volunteers who are all living in 'het Oude RKZ': a formerly squatted hospital where one of the cultural activities is playing movies! The RKZbios is known for its cosy atmosphere, luxury seats, interesting (local) beers and excellent projection. We screen mainly arthouse and independent films (but sometimes classics and interesting Hollywood movies) for an audience of students, locals and cinephiles in one of the the prettiest auditoriums in Groningen. Every movie is shown in the original language with Dutch subtitles (unless stated otherwise). The entrance fee is 7 euros, but you can also buy a ten ticket strip for 50 euros. Students only have to pay 5 euros! It's not possible to make reservations, but if you arrive early you will surely have a seat. The box office opens 30 minutes before showtime. Don't forget to fill your wallet with cash, because paying with a cash card is not possible.
