Straight above the roundabout in the main railway station bike parking facility is some sort of snowball. It’s huge and hangs upside down. The ball includes eleven plexiglass plates that resemble the contours of the station building while the LED lighting ensures continuous movement in the ball.
The work was designed by Giny Vos, who was inspired by the contrast between the Stadsbalkon (city balcony) and the station building. The modern square provides the monumental station with new elegance while it hides part of the station from view. With Second thought Vos mirrors the station downwards and connects the two constructions below the ground.
